Forward Russia! with Snowden at The Earl

Forward Russia! makes at stop along with Snowden at The Earl in Atlanta December 14. Formed in the Spring of 2004 in Leeds, England this dance/punk quartet is creating quite a stir with their debut full length album Give Me a Wall. Featuring rhythm heavy dance grooves in the vain of Gang of Four and Bloc Party but mixing in a bit of modern punk attitude, Forward Russia! is rapidly gaining a reputation for putting on high energy, chaotic live shows.

They are in the midst of a US tour with upcoming shows throughout the Midwest and East Coast during the month of December. There are still free tickets available for a number of their upcoming shows so sign up for their RSS tour dates to make sure you catch them when they come to town. They look like a band that is about to hit it big so catch them now while it's still easy to see them at a small venue.

What You Missed

This Charming Band, Sunday August 13 at Boardners

If you know anything about The Smiths you’ll know from this band’s name that they’re a Smith Tribute band, and a very good one at that. Based out of San Francisco, this 5 piece plays nothing but Smiths and Morrisey covers. Orlandissy takes the helm as the Morrissey front man, sounding and moving just as Moz does.

They played an hour and a half set that covered everything from How Soon is Now to Boy With the Thorn in His Side. The newly remodeled Boardners outdoor stage was packed with fans of the Smiths, who knew every song, without a care that this wasn’t the real thing. These guys nailed it and had a good time doing it too. Next time This Charming Band is in your area go see them whether you're a Smiths fan or not.
