Atlanta's Fox Theatre was designed in the late 1920's as a showcase for movies but fell into bankruptcy in the 1930s. It managed to survive as a movie house under new management until its demise in the early 70s. After being declared a historical landmark it was refurbished and turned into the gleaming showcase that it is today. In its current incantation the Fox Theatre hosts a variety of concerts, stage shows, and movie screenings.
